The Story Behind Seat E107

Each new dedicated seat in the Barclay represents a unique story. As we eagerly await the return of live performances, local companies, families, and individuals are leaving their mark on our beloved theatre by naming a seat.

"As artists and Irvine residents since 1982, we were delighted to see the creation of Irvine Barclay Theatre in 1990. Born and raised in Chennai, India (a member of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network), we consider arts, culture, and theater as essential markers of a world class city. We have had the pleasure of presenting internationally-renowned artists as well as our own productions numerous times at the Barclay as artistic directors of Arpana Dance Company and Ektaa Center, both based in Irvine. In fact, we were proud to be among the first 'sold out' shows at the Barclay soon after its opening in November 1990. We look forward to working with the Barclay and its wonderful crew in the coming years to present a variety of arts and artists that represent Irvine's diverse communities!"
