Thank you for your patience as Irvine Barclay Theatre (IBT) worked to determine how best to keep you safe when you return to the venue for performances beginning in the fall. In keeping with recent developments in the national concert industry, and in partnership with other major performing arts institutions in Orange County, the following audience protocols will be implemented at IBT.
Beginning September 1st proof of fully vaccinated status will be required from all audience members older than the age of twelve to gain entrance to the venue. Additionally, masks will be required at all times inside the Barclay. Children ages three through twelve (inclusive), for whom there is presently no COVID vaccine, are welcome at the Barclay but must be masked at all times while inside the venue. Children under the age of three are welcome at performances appropriate for small children.
All audience members older than the age of twelve will be asked to provide proof of vaccination status through a Personal Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record issued by the State of California, an original physical COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card or a photograph of an original Vaccination Record Card. The Barclay will review your proof of vaccination when you arrive at the venue.
These audience protocols will remain in force for the foreseeable future. Barclay staff are continuously monitoring best practices as well as guidance from appropriate local, state and federal governmental entities and will modify these protocols as and when appropriate.
If you have already purchased tickets for shows at the Barclay taking place after September 1, and these audience protocols make it impossible for you to attend, please contact the Ticket Office and the purchase price of your tickets will be refunded.
A downloadable form for requesting a medical, disability or religious exemption accommodation to the above vaccination requirement is available here.
Please fill out the form and bring it with you to the event. The Barclay will review your form when you arrive at the venue and return it back to you. If you are requesting a medical, disability or religious exemption, you will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test (molecular, PCR or antigen) completed within 72 hours of the event.
