Darcie Roberts: Back to Broadway
Friday, August 13, 2021 at 6pm at Mike Ward Community Park
Possessing a “winning freshness, a sturdy singing voice, and an uncommonly intelligent way with a lyric” (The Philadelphia Inquirer), Darcie Roberts is a legitimate Broadway triple-threat whose comic turns have been compared to Buster Keaton, Lucille Ball, and Carol Burnett by critics around the country.
“A statuesque beauty with a sultry delivery” (OC Register), Ms. Roberts has established herself as one of musical theater’s most versatile leading ladies. Co-starring opposite Tommy Tune (who called Darcie’s singing, dancing, and acting a “dream”), she earned critical acclaim originating the role of Libby St. Alban in the pre-Broadway tour of Busker Alley. She performed in the first national tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie for which she won a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical and has appeared in Broadway leading roles of the original productions of Dream, AIDA, and Curtains. She originated the role of Lola, starring in the first national pre-Broadway tour of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana. Prior to her Broadway debut, Darcie starred in the European tour of 42nd Street as Peggy Sawyer and was seen in the first national tour of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Aspects of Love.
General admission is FREE; tickets and pre-registration are not required for first-come, first-served seating.
