BLOOD MOON ORCHESTRA: FROM VIETNAM TO AMERICA - THE ODYSSEY & BEYOND

THU MAY 8, 2025 AT 8PM

Free event; registration required.

From Vietnam to America—The Odyssey & Beyond presents a powerful musical journey through the Vietnamese American experience—past, present and future. Under the direction of Oscar nominee and Emmy Award winner Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ, Blood Moon Orchestra, a groundbreaking musical collective redefining Vietnamese traditional music, will intertwine the stories of Vietnamese Boat People and refugees, recounting their journeys, while spotlighting the artistic talents of the next generation, including Rachele Nguyen, a finalist in The Voice Season 24. Through the power of music and storytelling, this concert seeks to honor the past while fostering a message of hope and inspiration for the future.

Blood Moon Orchestra (BMO) pushes boundaries by expanding and exploring the sonic capabilities of their respective instruments. Each member of the group is a master musician skilled at blending disparate sounds into innovative and fresh musical dialogues. Through this fusion, BMO creates performances that resonate deeply across cultural and generational divides.

This production is made possible by The Vo Huynh Family, The Dinh Kochan Family, Hai Nguyen & Teresa Mai, and other generous donors and sponsors.
