In their first performance of the season, Trio Barclay brings to life Mendelssohn’s iconic Piano Trio No.1. 

Composed in 1839, Mendelssohn's Piano Trio is a remarkable work that showcases the composer's lyrical brilliance and innovative approach to chamber music.  Mendelssohn's ability to blend classical forms with Romantic expression is evident in this early masterpiece, making it a quintessential representation of his distinctive musical style. Renowned for its dramatic intensity and emotional depth, the Trio's enduring popularity underscores Mendelssohn's legacy as a key figure in the Romantic era of classical music.

Also on the program is a world premiere by Emmy Award-winning composer, John Wineglass.
